Zombie Nauts [0.5.0]

I would love to turn that way but I can’t make art like that and my ‘artist’ can’t do that either. Pixel art is very hard for me. I’m not good with colors.

EDIT: Quick question: When would you guys like a beta release? I feel like I could get one out by Saturday or Sunday because my artist is out of town until Friday and he left with a big list of work. Like I said before we are adding a bunch of zombies and 2 new weapons so he has alot of art to draw. So when do you think would be a good time to ship one out to you guys?

I feel like a 0.4.0 download would be pointless. The mechanics are all there, but the hodge-podge zombie spawning technique made the game very very very bad. What I’m doing as we speak is implementing a wave system and starting to add bosses. I assure you, waiting for 0.5.0 (Which will only be about a week) is worth it. ;D

Yes. But you do need to provide a download soon. You keep postponing it.

I understand that greatly, haha. I hate that I keep postponing it. I am very sure that this download will be out soon. Scratch that! I am 100% sure that 0.5.0 will be released soon, unless there is some un-likely event.

I think that the artist will know when to release his art so just release when you think it’s ready but don’t promise something and then go back on it. That it’s something only triple a companies can get away with :wink:

This new wave system is really a way better alternative compared to random spawning. Though after you run out of waves I plan on having random spawning enabled so the game is truly endless.

dude, this game will be epic. You could have pilot zombies fly airplanes through the sky, and you shoot them. A scrolling effect and a map… I’m so itchy for more

0.4.5 Release:

Now I know I said I was releasing at 0.5.0 to the public, but I figure that it has enough content now and I have no idea when my artist is going to get around to doing his job. So, here is 0.4.5.

Features:

  • 3 new Zombies
  • a boss
  • a wave spawning system
  • 5 waves (one being a boss wave)
  • a player accessory!

Nice improvement!
The new zombies and wepon make add actually i good heap of variety,
and the boss, although it does mainly nothing but walking, funny idea, especially the drop.

But did you draw it the wrong direction? Because it is always facing away from you and the sprite is also facing the opposite direction than all the other sprites.
Aso, it is possible to run out of bullets without having wasted even one or having missed any ammo pack.

I’ll just have to increase the starting ammo. And for the boss, hmm, I don’t really know what I did I’ll have to look. Also, he will do something eventually and he will also drop a very powerful weapon, the slave wand. I’ll let you guys figure out what it does.

EDIT: I’m amazed at how I accomplished to draw the boss backwards after as many times I tested it.

If ammo supply is an issue, just have the game subtly raise the average amount dropped by zombies when the player is low ( < 5 left maybe)

Ya that is the main menu screen. The buttons and everything are very ugly. Just click inside the rectangles.
