What I did today

I’ve been trying to learn Blender too :point:

GM’d my first tabletop RPG in 22 years.

Nah, I never was a racer. Though I did get 178mph on the M4 one night*

Cas

  • Purely fictional story, officer.

I was going to get a CBR650f. But since I will be travelling/commuting I want a more comfortable ride. With that in mind I chose the Vulcan S. It’s the first bike I will be hitting the streets with (I used to dirt bike).

PS: I also love the Duke

It’s confirmed! I’ll be going to cubing nationals this summer in Oregon
Super excited, I’m sure it’ll be a blast.

I suddenly saw this

http://www.pcgamer.com/steam-games-number-of-too-many/

It’s quite interesting - how people in different part of the world, can see and talk about the same things)
This gives hope in many senses of the word.

p.s And I watched my old Source code (open source) - it looks horrible XD
In memory, he was much better,
I feel very sorry for it, but he was the best that I could write in past

pp.s my solution add moderatable tags to games ^^
(FPS with Craft, FPS with Open world etc…)

Yeah you’re truly never the best you can be. You can always get better. A year from now you will look at your current code and say the same thing!

Today, I will look back at my code from yesterday and say the same thing :emo:

I say it while actually typing the code.

Good example: Stephen Curry compared to last year (when he won MVP). Go Warriors!

I feel that way about my code only sometimes. Other times, I just make do with the code I’ve already written.

Last night a M4.8 earthquake hit north-northeast of Victoria, Canada, 11:40pm PST. The Lower Mainland really felt it. Probably what was going through all our heads at one point was “is this the big one?”

Earthquakes can be scary man.

Last night my friend threw up for a minute straight all over my bathroom, maybe the Earth was so disgusted that it caused an earthquake. I’ll be sure to tell my friend what he did.

Finally updated Fragile Soul after bloody months and posted a blog entry about it. <'3

You really aren’t lucky are you? :persecutioncomplex:

On a side note, happy new year to everyone out here! :point:

J0

Oh and I’ve had two crashes with my brand new Wrangler instead of my 16 year old car… yeah the universe has a way of balancing things out. Got a good job, here spend all your money on fixing cars or bathrooms :frowning:

Happy new year!

Happy new year to all!
I had a very quiet new years eve at home.
I learned a little about how to use mathematica. It’s a cool program, really takes the grunt work out of solving equations and differentiation.
Being able to just type a new function and see how a formulaic model is affected is really cool, instead of working through all the algebra by hand which can take days and I’m never totally sure that I did it right.
But I’m surprised at how few tutorials I could find. Many are very slow and boring videos, whereas I learn better from written examples with explanations. I guess mathematica mustn’t be a hugely popular program.

To celebrate the new year, I was out and about on my slippery roof, fidgeting with a solar panel to finetune its orientation. Happy with the result I attempted to reenter the attic through the tiniest of windows, at which point the window pane detached, hit me in the head causing me to lose balance, trip over, tumble over the edge of the roof, plummeting head first 20 feet to the ground, leaving a Manhattan sized crater in my garden, after which a bemused ‘ouch’ escaped my lips. There is an interestingly shaped bump on the back of my head, but I’m glad I lived to tell the tale. Solar power is freaking dangerous.

Thank goodness you’re ok! That’s pretty unlucky that the window frame came loose. Geez, you could have broken your back or neck. You must have fallen into some bushes that broke the fall?

I was also looking into solar power, but when I realised how little electricity I use during the day when I’m at work and the sun is shining, I ditched the idea.
Before solar is economical, I think that Tesla or some other company have to make cheaper batteries. Here’s an interesting article about that:

No worries, I was already mostly inside when the window frame came loose. There was also no Manhattan sized crater to be found, they say.

Grid tied setups are still profitable, with about 5-10 years ROI when your supplier has decent feed-in tariffs. Given you live in sunny Australia, it’s bound to be closer to 5 years. Off-grid setups are not economical, unless you depend on a beefy generator + battery bank for your electricity - keep in mind batteries themselves also have an efficiency of 80-90%, people forget to factor that in… Given that solar panel prices continue to fall rapidly, slowly gain in efficiency and lithium battery cycle counts are rapidly increasing, the best economic decision seems to wait it out… but where’s the fun in that.

@CommanderKeith: I barely use any electricity either. Typical residential USA power consumption seems to be 908 kWh / month, according to that article. Note that that is roughly my annual electricity usage… Most of my power usage is from the fridge, then the perpetually busy USB chargers, then my PC / laptop, then lighting (all LED). I wouldn’t even know how to increase my power consumption ten-fold. Certainly an airco would get me a tad closer. Long story short: solar panels are not economical for me either, but I like to tinker  Soon all USB powered devices and lighting will be running off solar + lithium battery bank (no inverter, 12V throughout the house, with a few 12V/5V converters for the last meters – yes, thick cables).
