Tutorials… lots of tutorials ;D … I tried pixel art, and I royally suck at it, so this is the best way for me to go 
I was toying around with the idea of posting tutorials on my website, but I’ve been swamped with work and figured I should hold off on that idea for now… When I get some time I’ll post a how to

Yeah I tried pixel art and am horrible at it. But the new age gradient rich (look at your grass) genre of art I am rather good at…well good enough to churn something non-pukeable out every 3 days or so.
Yeah, but that would make 4 textures bottom / left / right / top.
If you would want all possible combinations, you could let the game prerender these.

Lol, redbull does taste good with Jäger… I tried rockstar but didn’t like it. Needless to say, I love beer, but it’s a productivity killer for me :’(

Drew a tree… still needs to be polished, but not sure if I really like it all that much :clue:

I think it’s really good. But I really suck at art. ;D
Needs more texture on the bark. Looks a little to washed out.
The to plumes of leaves seem a little unrealistic from that angle. Maybe make several layers of plumes on different branches.
I am not to good at this stuff but I sure can be a critic. ;D
Edit:
not to be discouraging but when someone asks me to asses something anything I don’t point out is perfect. I only point out flaws as there are generally few flaws then good points. 
No worries, you did exatly what I was asking for
It took me about 45mins to make the tree (longest part was the leaves) … I think I need to spend more time as I don’t draw trees hardly ever.
