This week weā€™ve been working on some enemies (space turrets and jelly enemies with a shield), particle effects, the HUD and some decorative elements.

Sorry for the lack of updates, weā€™re working hard on the last details of the first playable alpha.

To sum up, this weekā€¦

  • ā€¦Weā€™ve completed the space turrets (or satellites).
  • ā€¦Weā€™ve included text windows (pop ups) the tutorial tips, mission objectives and clarifications about things that havenā€™t been included in the game yet (crafting system for example).
  • ā€¦Weā€™ve added the connection between the ā€œsandboxā€ and ā€œspecialā€ space stages. This connection has been made using portals! Note: sandbox = exploration part ; special = a mini-arcade stage to complete an specific objective.
  • ā€¦Weā€™ve created the main menu (a provisional main menu of course, the final main menu is planned and Itā€™ll be more interesting than the actual main menu :P)
  • ā€¦Weā€™ve solved bugs.
  • ā€¦Weā€™ve drunk liters of coffee.
  • ā€¦Weā€™ve (almost) done our new typography (aka font).

This game is possibly the most beautiful f***ing thing Iā€™ve ever seen on this forum.

Wonderful work! This was done with proper design: The background is ambient, entities stay really apparent on the screen without looking obviously different from the scenery, itā€™s perfect. It feels like a game. Itā€™s so game-y. I love it.

Yes, weā€™re still alive!

Last week we released a ā€œfriend versionā€ of the pre-alpha, in order to solve the max number of bugs for public release. Weā€™ve solved a lot of little damn bugs, and now we want to add some features.

Final tasks for this week: Translate everything to english (weā€™ve done all the texts in spanish for our families and friends), solve a couple of weird bugs, and add the gamepad support. Thank you for your interest and patience :smiley:

Just beautiful. The art is beautiful. The animation is beautiful. The design is beautiful. I canā€™t wait to play it. I can see this becoming a huge success.

I feel (having never played it of course) like the platformer parts needs a little moreā€¦ something. The art, animations, lighting, etc is great, but itā€™s somehow missing little things. Have you seen this?

@SHC Itā€™s a free font, you can use it :smiley: In a future, weā€™ll make our own font.

Since the game looks awesome in every other aspect you have to think about changing the music. IĀ“ve listened to the music in the pre-alpha movie and it just doesnĀ“t cut it. The melodies and the chords doesnĀ“t really fit together and the ā€œdistorted guitarā€ synthsound is not pleasing to my ears at all. The gameplay looks great, the graphics are great and it would be a shame to release a great game that doesnĀ“t sound good.
