What I did today

Be thankful it wasn’t Windows.

Today, my art abilities increased tenfold.

Can you go into more detail on your UI framework? Is it scene graphs or something? I too have been thinking of making a UI framework, but I’ve been too preoccupied to look for some common practices… But it seems like you’ve got a really good thing going there.

If you’re interested, I spent some time to make a small UI library for OpenGL. You can browse the code if you want. The UI code is in the [icode]com.digiturtle.common[/icode] and [icode]com.digiturtle.ui[/icode] packages.

I’m developing it to be similar to swing, but much more light weight. PM me if you’re interested in my help.

For Christmas, I got my first mechanical keyboard (A DAS Model S Professional). Very clicky, and very fun :D.
I also got a Galaxy S5, switching from a long line of Iphones. I rooted it as soon as I got it, and I am absolutely loving it!

Any suggestions for what I should do with it (geek-wise)?

If you like playing old games, you can download emulators on to it and download ROMs/ISOs from coolrom (doesn’t require root).

Continued developing the ui system for my personal game dev lib
Improved a ton of code. The ui system is quickly becoming extremely modular while remain clean and super lightweight.
Improvements only bring a single simple component today, a spinner! Even though it’s so simple the code that enables it opens many doors~

Fixed gifcam. Win8 display setting was scaled to 125% needs to be 100%

Ah. If you were having blurriness in some apps, that should be fixed too, I know the scaling does that to a lot of people.

Finally managed to make some good art. Woo!!

And the player in the game scene.

Thanks goes to Blender!

Got some basic AI implemented in my test game with SilenceEngine. Everything is going good so far. I also got a crappy gif for you guys.

As usual I continued my journey to create a power yet simple ui system.

here’s what I’ve got done today:

  • Complete Listbox (and picturebox as a bonus)

Bought the parts to build my first PC.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t start.

This crappy picture shows the wires coming out from the power/reset buttons: (the white socket near the top)

Just kidding. As you can see, those wires are not there. The case came with everything but that one set of wires.

I am slightly annoyed right now.

Only slightly? I’d be incredibly infuriated!

You can still start your computer.

Find out what pins are the power button on your motherboard, and you should be able to just bridge it with something like a screw driver (something metal) to short it.

I fixed it. Turns out the power/reset connector was the same as the HDD/Power LED connector so I just switched them. I can start it up but no lights. Will complain to store soon.

My graphics card was out of stock and shuold arrive on Tuesday, and I can’t download the OS until new years because of internet bandwidth limits. But at least everything seems to be working.

I bought Final Fantasy 13 on Steam and downloaded the 50GB game in three and a half hour…

#justNordicCountryThings

Damn download limits? Where do you live , the Siberian plains?

Limits? Uh… Around 10.4 TB/month I guess? That’s what I have time to download in 30 days at 4.2 MB/sec anyway. Sucks that I live in the suburbs of Stockholm and can’t even get 1 Gbit fiber or even 100 Mbit cable. Have to settle for 60 Mbit ADSL which only nets around 34 Mbit due to long telephone cable length to the nearest station…
