What I did today

Adding some stuff to my OS:

wByc9RjLKnk

Sorry the commands are in portuguese language

Drew some more tiles for a 2d-ship design kind of game I’m working on.

Thanks to my crappy de-bugging, this is all I did today. Expressed in a single commit.

4 hours lost…

Started making games again, after loads of studying in the last few weeks. Currently just making demos and trying out new stuff before making a whole game.

And man, do I love Ashley. (The entity system framework, that is.)

I just managed to get my mobile internet-stick running after 1 week completely without Internet!

Today isn’t over yet, but here’s what I did last night:

  • Ranted on JGO
  • Raged about Google and SEO
  • Worked on a secret new Mercury feature
  • Experimented with scalable web layouts

More to come soon.

Oh, and I also changed the typography on http://merc.radiri.us/
Still haven’t updated the forum though.

I participated in my first ever coding competition today at Georgia Tech. I made it to #9 out of 34 participating students but if I had 10 more minutes I could have made it to #2 or even #1! Either way, I’m happy to have at least made the top 10 in my first competition.

I’ve totally started revamping the GUI of my game (no more top bars full of text), as well as numerous tweaks to basically everything. Basically getting ready for a new alpha release of my game.

Nothing. I haven’t done jack shit today and I need to get off my lazy ass.

Did a lot to my SimplyCpp today:

New Syntax Colors:

Column-Selection mode:

And finally, font-selection dialog:

Mine isn’t impressive (at all), but in some free minutes today I made a loading bar like in libgdx. It also gave me practice with clipping masks (Illustrator) and glScissor

Got started with a spaceship part editor. The parts will be built from blocks using this tool. The player will eventually combine the parts into a spaceship and save the galaxy with it.

@Grunnt: Reminds me of what SwordsMiner is doing and also of what I am doing. So what is it in detail?

Well, I haven’t completely figured it out yet, but so far I have in mind a cross between homeworld, tetris, FTL and Star Control. Save the galaxy in roguelike style using your spaceship built out of collected tetris-like parts. Something like that…

Anyway I gotta go to bed, work tomorrow!

Working on a Java Pac-Man clone, JavaMan (No enemies yet, just munching dots)

Totally almost ready to release the next alpha of my game! I’ve got most everything I wanted to finish done, I actually got some dude to finally draw a good enemy sprite, as opposed to my terrible one, so I’m waiting on that.

I made this world generator the other day cause I was bored:

You can download it here.

SHC - That’s awesome, I’m really feeling the whole C++ IDE coded in Java

Finally got time to build the website for my new project,

http://www.legendsoffore.com/

Really enjoying this one!

Cheers,

Kev

I technically did this yesterday, but I released the new alpha version of my game!
