In regards to games like Scorched Earth, Worms, Gunbound, etc… What is your favorite method of choosing your angle and velocity? Is it just simply picking them and hitting one button to shoot. Picking your angle and then holding down a button and releasing when the desired velocity is reached (hopefully), or do you have another method that you favor?
Good old Worms style with arrow keys. My mouse is meant for headshots and ordering units around, not bazooka aiming. =D=D=D
Hi, now most of worms or tank like games use mouse to aim (and choosing velocity) and shot and arrow keys is for moving. Like all shooting games.
And for theagentd bazooka also is weapon and you need to aim it with mouse if you want a headshot :D. But if you hit with it i doesnt matter where because nothing is left from your target
I’m favoring aiming with the mouse, while having a display telling you the numerical value of your current angle (while telling you if it’s greater or less than your previous shot angle) and then clicking to bring up and start the velocity meter (which has a bar that moves back and forth), and clicking again to stop the bar, picking your angle (again with some notification of what the last velocity was). I was hoping to get more feedback, perhaps something to give me an idea for a unique niche as far as shooting goes.
The advantage of aiming with the keys is that when your turn comes around again it’s ‘saved’ the previous angle you shot at, so you can make minor tweaks easily. Aiming with a mouse is slicker, but you don’t get that memory of the previous shot. Maybe some kind of visual indicator to show what angle your last shot was?
Liero / Molez Style ^^
Well, judging from the Liero videos on youtube, it’s going to have less action and more strategic planning, as it’s turn based instead. How did you shoot in those games?
I vote for arrow key from both maker and player views. using arrow make it easy to play with lappy
easier on code*
