Man in a few hours so much happened. This is actually really freaking entertaining. 8) I kinda want him to try and trolol more.
I think some people just get a little too testy over someone talkin smack about their code. I just keep in mind that I am a perpetual noob and will always be open to suggestions. ;D
If it comes to that, there are ways to detect whether or not traffic is being routed through a Tor relay. Riven could just block Tor traffic for a while until he stopped trying to access JGO. He could also just use a VPN, or a Proxy, etc.
You don’t need a fool proof ban when you’re dealing with a single bad personality. You just need to make sure that they know they’re not welcome and make sure it takes more energy for them than for your team. They will eventually give up. Or if not they might sneak around your ban by reinventing themselves as someone with a more mild personality. The “clever” troll will think “Aha! If I don’t act like a troll they’ll never find out that it is me again.”
I am sorry Riven. Did not know you have been up that long. If it means anything, doesn’t this also mean the troll man is also up? I know you could try making a bot but with the way you register here I think it would be too time consuming.
Another thing I have seen is requiring 10 posts or a day before a user can start a new thread. Won’t stop a determined troll but can slow them down at least.
