Sources for graphics

I found a site that has a really large collection of (mostly) ripped sprites and 2d graphics for download for free. Does anyone know of a similar site that has a lot of 2d graphics? Free or not but preferably free.

Good public domain sprites:

Molotov have a random selection, but theyโ€™ve been quite useful in the past:

Lost Garden provide some really high quality stuff for prototyping purposes:

SpriteLib GPL from the Flying Yogi is pretty good for a whole range of games (see the recent 1942 clone):

For puzzle games, freeware icons are often a good starting point:

Iโ€™m sure I have more, Iโ€™ll check my game resources collection when I get home

Thanks a bunch.

I would have never thought of that :).

Lots of good graphics here http://reinerstileset.4players.de/englisch.html
And maybe here too, the project is open source, canโ€™t find any license info on the images http://www.wesnoth.org/

I like http://www.spriters-resource.com/ for old nes/snes rips but the site seems to be down.

Edit: itโ€™s back up.

http://www.cgtextures.com/ has some good textures that can be used either for 3D games or as base tiles for a tile based game.
