That’s a very nice game you’ve made there, however we think the keyboard would be better to control the main character. and the mouse used to aim the weapon and fire. How ofter are you updating this game. and how many levels is there in total.
Sorry last post for the the original game u posted i will review the game u redirected me to. ty
What’s to stop people putting cheats in their game and winning the money themselves?
The games is good for a work in progress, however it needs to still be finished before We can say yes. Keep up the good work. and stay in contact please. thanx
We will review the game code before we accept any games on the site. Either our dev team or a 3rd party is fine. We obviously dont want any cheats what so ever for the games. It bust be strictly based on users performance. Also At the end of the Day the game pots not won will be credited to the site and the game high scores will reset. The Developers will be paid based on the popularity of the game, as well by the fees and coins left over at the end of the day/period
Even assuming that no cheating games get past your people, what’s to stop people reverse engineering your highscore API and cheating that way?
Unless everything runs on a server you control, you cannot trust the client, even if you’ve reviewed your code. It’s easy to manipulate a game running on your local PC, which is why we have all these aimbots and wallhacks in shooter games, and that’s just scratching the surface. Unless you have a huge amount of anti-cheating software and/or run everything on the server, there’s actually nothing preventing a player in an FPS game to simply send packages to the server that he just headshotted every single enemy on the whole map simultaneously.
I’ve witnessed pretty much that exact scenario, actually.
Also as far as languages go, apps written in JVM langs are trivial to reverse engineer.
Proof: I’ve teleported around myself in my own games by simply using Cheat Engine to modify my position. Took me less than 5 minutes once I knew what I was doing. It’s even easier to modify a numerical score that’s clearly visible in the game.
Very good questions. We have everything server side and are in contact with some very good security teams. They will make sure everything is in order for that part. For now from you guys we need games.
Have we chosen the wrong type of platform to base our arcade off of? Should we try html5 or shockwave or maybe some thing else.?
Usually you don’t make a game first (unless it’s a simple gameplay prototype) and THEN move everything to the server side. It’s usually kept in mind from the beginning, unless you’re begging for hacks to add it in later and a bigger risk for security issues. I’m probably not very knowledgeable on this topic though, and if the game is simple enough, then obviously it’s not that difficult to move the most critical parts to the server.
Can I ask why you thought it would be sensible to copy the Wikipedia summary of Pac-Man without crediting the article?

On the Wiki page, read the section labeled Gameplay. It is a direct copy and paste.
Sorry the read more wasnt linking the rest of the topic it was only half posting u needed to cick the more button
Oh, yay, another one of these “It’s not gambling because it’s skill based!” websites that draw in poor kids who want to win some cash, but are too young to gamble.
Websites like yours have come and gone quite often since around the 90s. They promise “skill based” rewards for pay per play games, but the reality is it develops into a pyramid scheme where the owners always take a cut (reasonable since you have to make a living), but the only players who ever make money off the system are the absolute top elite members. … and almost-always those are, user bots, macro programs, hackers or in some of the worst cases even company owned bots who can outplay you at any games, making sure there are no real “winners” on the top.
Your business model will fail. You’ll need to find a new one, and I would suggest one that doesn’t screw over 99.5% of your honest regular/casual players. What will happen, as it always does, is you will find yourself with a very low customer return rate, with players giving you $5 to try it out here and there and the tiny fraction of the top elite members (mostly cheaters probably) will be the only ones that stick around. You end up royally shafting a large amount of the gamer community, and it’s simply just wrong.
Every single website I’ve seen creep up with this business model all eventually just became ad supported free game sites with high score boards. It’ll be more ethical if you setup a real gambling site, at least the players wont be naive kids, and they’ll know they’re gambling when they walk through the figurative door.
Sorry if I sound bias, but I’ve been around playing in the web based game world since it’s birth, and I’ve never seen one of these sites that didn’t eventually fail and have to change their model, or even get shut down by the authorities of their native countries.
Still looks like gambling to me, paying to play a game in the hopes you make some money.
Go to my profile page and go to projects, have a look at my space invaders clone. Have it, get someone to code your api into it and enjoy drowning in law suites; it’s the best thing for people that bring this shite onto the market.
I don’t think that concept is that bad, where is the difference between paying full price for a game (and then pay more to get DLCs and premium content :P) and paying a little amout for virtual credits with which you can play the game a few times, with the chance of getting some of the invested money back?
Isn’t it something positive, to have the chance to earn some money of beeing good enough?
If someone invests to much in this website, cause he hopes to earn more then he invests, is it really the fault of the website? Or is it the person with the lack of self-control?
What i want to say is, that not always “the thing” is responsible, but often or even most time the one who “uses” it is responsible for what happens.
Hi
I would be happy if you were right about the use of open source licenses by the developers here. Moreover, it is impossible to make a full transfer of rights in some countries. For example, in France, it is forbidden to work around the right of paternity (attribution).
Because you pay one off for the full game and DLC’s and you have it, you can play it as many times as you want. You pay per play with the chance to get money back, gambling.
Sorry but it is no different from putting £1 into a slot machine and pulling the lever, except the lever is a bit more complicated. Arcades are pay per play, the games rarely pay something back; if they do it is usually some sort of crane machine where you try to pick up toy (which are rigged just like every other gambling machine).
I am perfectly fine with paying £1 a go on the Time Crisis machines at my local arcade, what I am not OK with is the people using this is adding some sort of way to win credits (tickets) and abstracting it enough to cover up the fact that it is gambling.
The difference between an arcade and a gambling game is that when you are finished playing Time Crisis or something, you get SOMETHING back; such as a single ticket to spend in the prize store. Gambling on the other hand, there is a high chance you get nothing back and a very very low chance you win something.
I spend a lot of time in the Casino, it’s not hard to tell the 2 apart.
@Gibbo3771 i understand your point, but there is a huge difference in my opinion. While your goal, when playing with a slot machine is only to win the jackpot, the goal, when playing an arcade game should be the fun while playing.
To me it seams strange, that paying for one round of a game is better then paying for one round of a game with the chance to get back the money…
It does not seem to me, that the website plans to have a huge jackpot a player can aim for, to me it is more like getting some free rounds or winning a few $ only, which you can spent in another arcade game.
If it is gambling, just because you can win something, then every game is some kind of gambling. Or is there a difference between earning in game cash, with which you buy better equipment and earning a few virtual $ with which you can play another game?
Its just my opinion…
