Here is 8x8 pixels Font Notch made his game Minicraft…
My question is, how do you make such a perfect font?? I mean, no matter how I look at it, it just looks freakin awesome… I’m sorry for this, but I will need to copy it for my game

what he did was make an image map. each region becomes a letter.
the regions in the image are evenly spaced so its easy to iterate through them.
the actual act of making the letters is just a matter of drawing them in your favourite paint program.
o-o I know how to use it. Just look at how awesome it looks. I tried many many times to draw some cool font like that, and failed every time to make font that I liked. The moment I saw this, it was like perfect stuff…
I think you idolize Notch too much. He’s awesome and all, but he’s not the only one that can draw nice fonts. He probably drew it a long time ago and just re-uses it. You just need to be a little artistic, that’s all.

Looks quite similar to the font from the Amstrad 8-bit range, so I wouldn’t discount the possibility that the font is older than Notch.
Well, 8x8 limits the possible differences a lot. (If you want to have a readable font)
Agreed I see notch’s name mentioned to much, there are better programmers and better artists so I dont get why everyone idolizes him so much…

Why do so many people use Macs / Linux?
They are both shit compared to PC, Windows. There is no arguing there… “Easier to use” My ass. No its not.
Same with Notch. He might not be the best, but he is just awesome, just like people prefer Mac over PC.

Yeah, so even though I don’t like Macs either, its not very smart to go insulting people who do. Look, its just a computer, its silly to argue over which one is better.
Everyone here knows you like Notch very much, I do to, but I really do think you make him out to be some genius coder who is pretty much God. Notch is just a regular guy who is smarter than most, and hit it big with a very cool game.
I’m not trying to bash your personal celebrity, but give him some breathing room. No one likes to be held up in the spotlight like that for too long, and it also makes you a bad coder for trying to be like him. Be yourself, develop your own code style. Coders who try to be like qnother ultimately fail, trust me. I was absolute crap at coding until I realized all I was doing was reading tutorials and copying code. Now I like to believe I’m better! And that’s because I’ve stopped trying to be someone else when I program, sounds pretty cheesy.
