Does anybody know of any good graphics editing programs? I need to clip and make transparent backgrounds, thanks.
The GIMP is free. I use that.
I love Photoshop, but it’s not free …
hmm, GIMP eh? I’ve never cared much for SMS, although i hear its good money.
I had a look into this GIMP thing. Seems quite complicated. What the hell is going on? ??? ???
I got this other program in the meantime, this “pixelator” crap, that blows up your image so you can change the individual pixels in a grid, as well as making them transparent. but not what happens is a small portion is transparent while the rest floats in some f*ckin black box that travels around my landscape. Java is quite frustrating, no?

Yeah, when I started using it I thought the interface was complicated. But you quickly get used to it, the only thing funny about it is that it creates an awful lot of windows. I think it’s quite good, too (apart from just being free).
GIMP is not real inutitive at first, but it is free.
Before I discovered GIMP my favorite was Paint ShopPro, by Jasc. I think Corel just bought it. IMHO every bit as good as Photoshop but MUCH less expensive.
handling gimp can be a problem, but there are tons of tutorials out of there and as said, it’s free, so if you are comparing quality/cost, you get infinity for gimp : (next friday’s calculus exam has overtaken me)
GraphicsGale Free Edition, it has onion skinning
I switch between Fireworks and Photoshop for my bitmap/vectorish graphics.
For real vector work, I use Illustrator.
