You should get the splash page, images loading , connecting to server… then it should quit cleanly (unless the server is up, rare right now) All I am looking for right now is to see if my jnlp is working.

hmm… looks more like a starfleet command style game. Not a bad thing but not what I would concider a ‘trade’ game.
In fact, I was playing starfleet command when I said, this would make a great trader. The emphasis will be on trading/commerce, politics, business, etc. Combat comes into play due to piracy, fueds, disagreements, law enforcement, etc.
I was playing the SF trainer when looking out into space, you have a freighter you are protecting and the Klingon cruiser in the distance. I thought, “wouldnt it be neat to be able to dock with the freighter, trade merchandise, then bug out before the galactic police/pirate/competitor arrived. Then click the navcom, choose the Seti 3 system, and hyperspace away.” If I can get it to work, there will be ship to ship trade, ship to starport trade, ship to moon/asteroid base trade. Hope to have a nice universal or at least system/galaxy economies as well.
Hehe I had a similar ideas as well.
I liked SFC’s crew system and like. I also loved the old elite and X games.
I have been thinking for some years now how to best incorperated the elements I like into a game.
But I fear it may be a futile attempt.

odd about the unsigned piece, thought I signed everything.
If you got the connecting to server… after seeing the logo in an 800 * 600 window, then that is what you should have seen and should have happened. thanks!! I am going to try to get a test server up this weekend so I can test the GUI.

Got a server going and will be up for a few hours tonight…11/23/05 EST
Use mouse to click and activeate create and login buttons.
When you login, you willstart inside a plnet…goof…just click forward arrow and you will fly out some and see your ship.
Cant do much but fly around. link up top.
I created user (name, password, alias) and went to login. Clicked on ‘login’ several times but nothing happened. Does that mean that server was down ???
odd, if you got the create screen, it means you were on the server…though I see no record in the db or logs of your connection. Try again if you have a chance.

If you get the creat/login screen, you have sent and receievedthe HELLO from the server. I still dont see a character inthe db or any logging of the connections…very strange. phooooey!
