FarSky

Really an amazing game, awsome job man

How long was this in development for?

Well I worked on this game for almost a year now. The first playable version came out by the end of August, 5 months ago. Creating a stable 3d engine required a lot of time :stuck_out_tongue:

my launcher wont update to the new version. or am i just missing something

Just a small suggestion but maybe you should add a free demo so people can see what they would buy

Before release this game was free to play so a lot of people have already demoed it. Plus all the videos on YouTube give a good representation of the game.

@stonewalltony: at first the launcher was working as an updater, but some people had trouble with that and could not update the game correctly, plus now that the game can be bought the build process works through Humble Bundle, making things more complcated for auto-updates. So instead the launcher is an installer (only one click needed to install the version built with the launcher) and gives news about updates. To update the Beta, you just need to redownload the game with the link used the first time (more info on the FAQ of the website).
@xXCoderDevinXx & @kingroka123: Indeed the game was free during alpha, but as I made some important fixes since then I do not support it anymore. Yet it is still available here: http://gamejolt.com/games/adventure/farsky-alpha/17438/ I could make a demo, why not. Iā€™ll see

Hey everyone!

The game has been doing great so far, better than I expected! But now it is time to push things a bit furtherā€¦

It is not over, so please donā€™t forget to share and spread the word.
Again, a big thanks! ;D

Man, i wish my computer was not ancient i cant even run opengl 2.0. I tried getting the alpha but when I started it it said ā€œSorry, your computer doesnt support opengl 2.0ā€ and i have updated my graphics drivers. Oh wellā€¦ And Im on a laptop so I can not replace my graphics card :frowning:

I just released FarSky Beta v3.1 today!

This update really focuses on the second level to bring more content, such as glowing seaweeds, the anglerfish and the frilled shark.
There are also some changes with iron, you need to find spots to get more of it. Also added copper, and new types of spear.

The Greenlight campaign is still doing great with 3000 yes votes now thanks to your support

@xXCoderDevinXx: Indeed, as soon as shaders are used in a game, it removes some old laptops compatibility. Sorry for that, I wish it could run on every machineā€¦

Looks like an awesome game :o

Looks simply stunning and a fantastic concept at that.

How is it doing on the market? Just curious, is it making enough for you to focus more on it and less on work? I can imagine a lot of time was put into it hehe.

@Gibbo3771: Iā€™m actually already working on this as a full time job. Iā€™m launching the game next week on Desura, and Iā€™ll put it on other platforms afterwards.

The game is getting more and more visiblity! The feedback is incredible! Here are some reviews:
