Exhibit game at PaxPrime? worth it?

Hey guys, im sorry for writing two posts in a row.

We are finishing our Android game in a couple of months and we are starting to think about marketing and advertising strategies.

Some of our friends have recommended that we exhibit our game in Pax Prime 2014 in August under the inidie-developer category.

However this will be a huge commitment for us, because we don’t have a lot of money. Also we will have to travel to the US.

So my question is do you think this is viable idea for a small studio like us?
Does anyone know somebody that had already exhibited a game there?

Any comments are welcome, thanks!

You have to be confident in how your game looks and feels and your ability to present it. Because the worst that can happen isn’t a wasted trip, it’s a permanently bad outlook for your game, if your game isn’t ready for presentation. If you haven’t already, I think you should start small - since indie devs like us don’t have the money to go on massive ad campaigns, I’d suggest spreading the word of the game through your friends, maybe making a kickstarter, sending demos to youtubers, steam greenlight, post it on this forum, etc. When people are like “I’ve heard of that game”, it’s the perfect time to present at something like pax and put an image in their minds of what your game is like.
