Xith3D 0.8 Released !

A new release, Xith3D 0.8.0, came out today.

New features

  • COLLADA 1.4 support added !
  • A new HUD system

There are some changes that break more or less backward compatibility : be sure to read entirely the releases-notes-0.8.0.txt file included in the xith3d-0.8.0.tar.gz file.

You can Download it on our website : http://xith.org/ !

And watch (Ext)RenderLoop, (Ext)Xith3DEnvironment, Canvas3DWrapper and Canvas3DPanel. It will ease your Xith3D coding a lot.

cool!!

(That’s mentioned in the releases notes : all of you you should really read it in its entireness : it contains many useful informations for each release)

Maybe we should provide a download link to the release notes file separately. On xith.org, there is the same text like in your posting, Amos. There you could make the text “releases-notes-0.8.0.txt” to a link.

There were mistakes concerning the new TextureLoader in the release notes (and some misspellings). I’ve corrected everything. So here is the new version…

Maybe we should provide a batch file and shell script to run the Xith3DTestStarter. This would be even better then the deleted batch files, wouldn’t it? I’ve attached an example.

I know cause I’m maintaining http://xith.org ;D

Done.

Yes, I just wanted to exactly explain which text I’m talking about.

Maybe it is better to let the link point to a file at this place: http://xith.org/download/builds/latest/
