Xenplat 2 prototype 2 is here. Please leave me feedback about what you think of it.
Download.
- pretty good,I liked it a lot made me think of mario
- why ihere not webstart. or even a jar for that matter…
you will get a lot more responses if you make it a webstart.
all ina ll good work.
Nah. I’m done with Java Crap Start until they make it better, I don’t get the hateful bias to downloading things here.
well when people try out like 5+ games here a day. We dont want to have a load of zip files. cause it is just one more step… cause we got to download then unzip.

Feedback:
- Was quite surprised by the 5.6 meg download
- I’d really like an applet or webstart, as you say not very good for final game distribution, but here it makes it extra easy.
- You Win!
- Didn’t know what the controls were - can I have them on screen somewhere? (Z = shoot for anyone)
- Music is nice but doesn’t really suit the game
- Performance is good, feels easy to play
- Needs suitable zappy sfx and bad guy death screams
- Levels feels short and not varied - I guess thats just cause it’s prototype - but I’d like to go into caves, switches, moving platforms, keys, maybe some dialogue, even better some fetch/carry type job in there - meaning that learning the level was worth while.
- Art style is unique, but I quite like it (nice to see the death frame and fade out)
- Everyone seems to be floating just above the ground
- Can you add a press first to continue on the level load screens, I sat wondering how long it was going to take to load.
- It’d be nice if the resolution was a bit bigger, don’t like it when the head goes off the top of screen.
- More weapons please
Overall, it’s easy to play and feels just about right. Needs polishing and extending.
Kev
looks very nice, color scheme reminds me a bit of megaman though.
Snake anyone?
Awesome
Kev
download is not working.
The screenshots look nice though
Hi!
I put a new task into my todo list: give your prototype a try (when I get back my Internet at home). The graphics seem better and you have added some sound effects, I’m impatient to hear it by myself.
If you need some help for the installation, maybe we should both investigate in an installer like IzPack, I began using it some months ago. It would be even better than Java Webstart on my view.
bump.

it looks very polished.
What does?
your menu of course
Thank you!
