Technical specs aside, has anyone else noticed that the XBox 360 looks alot like a silver ‘curvier’ Dell
Was just sat here reading news.bbc.co.uk and it struck me that it looked like the machine on my desk.

Yes, you’re right…
… you are bored.

Ahh yes. A key difference between the xbox360 and the dell is that the xbox360 won’t be ridiculously over-priced. In fact it will certainly be sold at a loss.
I hope there will be a way to install linux on an xbox360 as there is a way to do it on a xbox.
With that hardware specs i’d set up a my own litle server on an linux xbox360 ;D
Naa, it’s designed for games - it’d suck as a server.
I’ve never been much of a fan of consoles, and the Xbox360 doesn’t inspire me to re-evaluate that position. Nintendo looks like they’re deliberately ignoring the entire market again (targetting people who don’t play games and those who are too young/old to handle normal games/controllers) so I’ll pass there as well. Sony have a reputation for excellence when it comes to consoles, so I might consider a PS3. However, right now I see myself buying a PSP some time before Christmas and calling it quits for another generation.
my latest console is a dreamcast and I only got that when the price was down to $50 I think I might invest in a console this time around since its been so long. So far I’m thinking the ps3 sounds nice, I liked ps1 titles a lot and it sounded like the ps2 had many good titles. I don’t want to support microsoft, so if theres no real reason to get an x-box I won’t. The nintendo’s controller sounds interesting since it has motion sensors. I’d consider getting a new nintendo if there are some cool sword fighting games or something that works well with their motion detector controllers.
I’ve heard that people have had trouble with the PSP’s because they are pretty much all screen and therefore not very sturdy! The PS3 should be pretty sweet. At the moment I have an Xbox and a PS2. I really didn’t want to support Microsoft either, but the game just look incredible on the XBox!! The graphics really are superior in a side-by-side comparison, but then again the PS2 is a lot older than the XBox so I have really high hopes for the PS3!!
I honestly don’t see why you would care about such a minimal difference in graphics between the PS2 and XBox, or Gamecube either for that matter. Developers rarely spend the time to maximize the graphics in the games, so there is almost no differentiation. And regardless the graphics are not what define what a good game is, and as a (hopefully) fledgling developer, it really disturbs me how many braindead people are drawn in by pretty pretty effects (not to say you are) rather than good gameplay. Aside from a few games on the XBox, most of them are mediocre at best, and the console has issues reading DVDs a lot of the time. I personally have a gamecube because the price is right and the games are better than those on Xbox.
I carry mine around every day in my backpack, use it as an MP3 player, etxc and its fine.
But the first thing I did was buy a shock proetcted logitech case for it and it lives in the case.
