WrappingPaper4k

Hi,

then I will start the first game topic =)

WrappingPaper4k is a puzzle game (yeah you know I love puzzle games).

Move and fold paper strips by dragging them with the mouse.
Use them to join dots placed on the screen.

Easy to learn, yet hard to master.
It is a 4kb remake of the great Colorbind.

At the moment the pack200 file is 3,66 kb I have some space left. More levels or better graphics? What do you prefer?

You can play it here.
If you want to try the Javascript version click here

Nicely done. I think there are enough levels so maybe some nicer graphics and do things like spell out “previous”, “restart” and “next” instead of only " < r >"

I have no idea why it doesn’t work on the site.

Other applets do work, and I can’t see anything wrong in the db, the files, or applet tag. The pack.gz file gets delivered with the right headers. You sure it’s correct?

Of course not ;D

My way to create the pack.gz file:
compile with 7Zip and the command line “7z a -mx=9 -tzip e.jar E.class” -> that created jar you can play here
after that I use pack200 with the command line “pack200 -G -E9 e.pack.gz e.jar” and that creates a e.pack.gz file with a e.pack in it …
What’s wrong with my way? Thanks for your help!

For some strange reason this worked:

-Djnlp.packEnabled=false

Good game. I’ve only had time to do a couple of levels. Getting my head round it properly will take a bit longer. 40 levels seems plenty at the moment; I doubt people will play them all when judging, so I’d go with more eye candy.

40 levels is plenty, I very much like the graphics, I don’t think more eye-candy is needed.
Maybe sounds then ?

Thanks for the feedback.

The idea with the sound “sounds” great. I will try some “nice” beep sounds.
