It’s still morning when I come to “the story” thread to mess around and I find SMF is trying to deceive me

Well… i’m pretty sure i didn’t post a lot of the things on there… so i’m just going to assume my account learned how to post without me having to be on. :slight_smile: i can get more stuff done now!

There was a time when I temporarily lost the ability to “Preview” a post. I strongly suspect that this was actually an act of “behavior modification” rather than a bug in the web site. I was making extensive use of the function and perhaps annoyed the-powers-that-be with the traffic. On that basis, I would take any statement by Riven or anyone with administrative capabilities (“we don’t need no stinkin’ badges”) seriously.

EDIT: thanks for setting me straight on that, Riven!

I recall Riven had made such a remark about the traffic err…activity caused by the “Story” thread.

I haven’t been reading the Story for a while. I wanted to comment (humorously) that I thought it (the superlative quality of the story itself) was a great counterpoint to the threads we have on collaboration and finding partners. :wink:

I believe Riven was talking about the fact that a large percentage of the recent posts on JGO where all in the “the story” thread. I don’t think he was worried about the traffic. You’d have to ask him though

The [preview] button is very valuable and has never been subject to behaviour modification. It was probably a bug, either in SMF or in one of my add-ons.

i did not got the point why the story thread was moderated so
it was popular
ppl liked and participated
that was fun
so why not
if Misc Topics was not the right folder than why jgo has no some “smoking room” thread where to talk on all not java gaming related stuffs
