where do I find textures?

I need just a few textures with a mono-color background, for example a billboard-style one of a spruce or fir tree… where can I find something like that online?

unfortunatly art work is v hard to find. 3d objects with good textures but low poly count (what we need for games) are very difficult to find, unless you have a large budget. Turbo squid has some stuff thats interesting.

Get hold of a digital camera and an image manipulation package, go take some pictures. I have found this much easier than trying to find stuff that doesn’t quite match online and you know that all the content is copyright you.
