Tidied up my project and stitched it all together with Maven (Libgdx/Kryonet/etc)
And put it up on github: http://vatterger.github.io/orts_game/
Iām not making much actual progress on the game right now though, need some more research and planning.
You can use this as an example on how to setup a LibGDX-Desktop Project with only Maven.
GoG.com are currently running their summer sale and as such, are giving away a game for free, namely System Shock 2.
System Shock 2 is something Iād recommend everyone planning on doing gamedev (i.e. everyone reading this) check out, especially if you want to make a narrative driven game or an FPS.
From wiki:
[quote]System Shock 2 is a first-person shooter action role-playing survival horror video game for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux, designed by Ken Levine and co-developed by Irrational Games and Looking Glass Studios. Originally intended to be a standalone title, its story was changed during production into a sequel to the 1994 PC game System Shock; the alterations were made when Electronic Artsāwho owned the System Shock franchise rightsāsigned on as publisher. System Shock 2 was released on August 11, 1999, in North America.
The game takes place on board a starship in a cyberpunk depiction of 2114. The player assumes the role of a soldier trying to stem the outbreak of a genetic infection that has devastated the ship. Like System Shock, gameplay consists of combat and exploration. It incorporates role-playing system elements, in which the player can develop skills and traits, such as hacking and psionic abilities.
System Shock 2 received positive reviews, but failed to meet commercial sales expectations. Many critics later determined that the game was highly influential in subsequent game design, particularly on first-person shooters, and considered it far ahead of its time. It has been included in several āgreatest games of all timeā lists. In 2007, Irrational Games released a spiritual successor to the System Shock series, titled BioShock, to critical acclaim and strong sales. System Shock 2 had been in intellectual property limbo following closure of Looking Glass Studios, but Night Dive Studios were able to secure the rights to the property in 2013 to produce an updated version for modern personal computers. OtherSide Entertainment announced in December 2015 that they have been licensed the rights from Night Dive Studios to produce a sequel, System Shock 3.

EDIT: The graphics are quite dated on this title, however there are a number of graphical mods that make it look a least a little bit more modern. Also of note, if you like to keep up with modern titles, then there is an imminent remake of System Shock 1 and a new System Shock 3 coming soon, so picking this one up will you let play it all once theyāre released.
Uploaded a test build of Basingstoke to Steam.

Ignore the horrible code for now, Iāll refactor it tomorrow.
I wrote a Atari game using Visual Bb. The gameās called āRaindropsā and you try to catch the raindrop in the basket. The game looks a little something like this.
Youāll need an Atari emulator like Stella to run it.
Being relatively new to programming, I donāt see whatās so horrible about the code. It looks fine if you ask me.
It looks amazing! You did that in Visual BASIC?

By horrible, Iām saying about optimizations. I have to correct the values by normalizing the vectors, and check for NaN in the doppler shift if the dopplerFactor is 1 which is the default value.
Have I mentioned this game looks really cool? Yes I have.
