Welcome 2 new Global Moderators to JGO

JGO community,

Two members of the JGO community have graciously volunteered their time to help with the administration and growth of JGO. So, today, please welcome Markus_Persson and Demonpants as the two global administrators for JGO.

We will be working on some new changes, streamlining, and activities that will help move JGO forward and continue to be an excellent resource for game developers across the web.

Thanks!

-Chris

Gratz & thanks!

very cool.

FRESH MEAT!

Gratz guys. Any changes coming?

Here are some fun words of wisdom:

–Never work just for money or for power. They won’t save your soul or help you sleep at night.

–No programming language is immune to the infection of politics and the corruption of power.

–Power can be taken, but not given. The process of the taking is empowerment in itself.

We’re discussing a few minor site changes to start with, then we might do some bigger ones later.

Vague, I know…

Keep those updates coming

Reimplement the website in flash?

Yeah actually we’re going to change the website to FGO - Flash Gaming Online.

Okay not really.

Congratulations to Markus and Demonpants!

Grats (you just got more work ;D)

I already see the Work in progress section. Keep things going

great,

waiting for new changes, and thanks for all your work !

PS: just a tought, what about JGO members vote for Game ShowCase (and maybe WIP )like for 4K : Technical / Graphics / Fun to play

Please put this in the Suggestions forum I just made.

That’s great, congrats to Eli and Markus! 8)

Oh crap, I haven’t even replied to your emails yet, chrism and demonpants. =D
Sorry about that, I’ll get on it as soon as possible!

I guess I could provide some insight on my situation here:

As some of you might now, I currently work full time as a flash game developer. I’m quitting that job for a non-game dev job, mostly in java, to be able to focus on independent game development during my free time.
I expect to experiment some with making small commercial games as well, to see what can be done, and I’m looking around to see if there are any interesting collaborations waiting to happen.
To me, it’s no longer very important if a game is made in java, or what technology it is made with, but since java is my language of choice, I’m very happy this forum exists. It’s produced a lot of really cool stuff (my personal favorite is Java4k), and that it has grown somewhat influential, especially with sun.
We can do better, though. =)

I’ll discuss with the other guys to see exactly what my role in all this is going to be, but I feel a bit out of my depth, to be honest. =)

I’m also sort of lurking for any interesting collaborations
