Arggh. Why did no-one tell us about this?

So many of us with so many things to say and ask about webstart…
Worth nothing a few, such as:
Thomas Ng: Currently the auto-install (one-click) feature of Java Web Start works on IE on Windows only. We are looking into adding similar support to Firefox in the 6.0 time frame.
Stanley Ho: We are currently working on improving the entire user experience (including the scary screen, of course) in Java Web Start in J2SE 6.0 (Mustang). You should expect dramatic improvements over the current release.
“Support PNG files (including alpha-channel support) for icons” and “Java Web Start does not support *.ico Icon files” … have only been fixed for java 6, and will not be backported
for the feature “Support for Optional Packaging Repository for Java Web Start.” We recognize the importance of this feature, and we have been working with a number of groups in J2SE to address it in a future J2SE release. [although they then said nothing else about it]
Is there a wizard to create JNLP files? Thomas Ng: Currently not. [ahem. Yes, there are - just none of them were written or promoted by Sun]
