Kev’s left most of the forums he participates in over the whole internets. I think he’s just sorta sick of maintaining an internet persona and wastes too much time.

I became addicted to news sites recently, was constantly reading news, was a news junkie.
Then I decided to edit my hosts file and forward all the news sites domain to my localhost. Has done wonders to my productivity.
Yeah, I saw the j4k09 posts, where he appears as guest…
:-\
hmm, pitty.
how can it take effort to maintain a “persona”
hes already got one lol ;). he could just post less.

:o
More seriously though that seems sort of odd of him. I just noticed it and was looking to see if he had posted a goodbye or something, and I just happened to click on this thread first despite the deceptive title. I guess we can always go find him on cokeandcode.
well atleast he is still on the slick forum ;D.
Hm, he thinks JGO is “going to the dogs.” I hope not. :-\
Sorry but what does “going to the dogs” mean? English is not my mother tongue.
Kev reckons JGO is just full of crap these days and he can’t be bothered with it any more.
Cas
Heh heh, Cas.
Going to the dogs basically means going downhill, or steadily getting worse.
I don’t really agree with him, as this is probably the friendliest bestest community I’ve ever come across on the internet, and there’s no real explanation why - people here just are. I think it’s the Danes. They’re a nice bunch.
Cas
Could be. I hear it’s nice over there this time of year.
But I agree with you - I still occasionally see stupid posts (some from me too), but overall everything stays pretty positive here.
Or maybe he means that dogs now live in the JGO server room :
There is also the factor of “usefulness” of the forum… Kev’s moved quite a long way beyond needing to ask questions really, and he does so much other stuff that spending time answering questions is kinda hard work, especially when you’re on several forums. I admit that’s why I don’t post too much any more too.

And maybe it’s like visiting the favorite disco of your youth, when you are grown up. You tend to think “oh my got, that’s not the same place anymore, and all those kids, they get younger every year” and in fact it’s you, getting older instead…
Zackly. We might feel inclined to think that JGO is slipping away, but actually, it’s us.
Cas
You guys are probably right. I definitely feel less interested in this site already, although I think I’ve still got a ways before I’m not using it at all. One problem for me is that I’m rarely programming in Java anymore, and most of my game-making energy goes to my job.
