View vector to set Spotlights

All

Is there a simple way to use the view to set the direction vector of a spotlight such that it always points towards the direction your looking?? I am errr....limited when it comes to vector math/matrix's etc. I am using code the uses eulars to rotate the view and am unable to determine the vector I am looking down. Any thoughts???

Got it figured out…have an alternate problem though.

I am using a slightly old version of xith and am seeing the following problem

When I turn on the spotlight ONLY the shapes initially illuminated by the light are lit, no matter how I move or rotate the spotlight. Imagine a rectangle of various shapes. Only a subset of shapes are initially illuminated. Using the keyboard I can reposition the light (I visually see the highlights moving) rotating the spotlight highlights different areas as it rotates.

If I pull the light way back and then shine it on the scene more shapes are caught in the initial cone of light. I can then move around and rotate the light and additional shapes are lit…wierd. Any thoughts?? Is this something that may have been fixed??

The reason I am using an olf version is so the collision system will work.
