Using GarageBand for game development?

Is anyone out there using Apple’s Garage Band for the music in their game development project? How is it?

I’m not ( which doesn’t really help you ever so much) but I do use BuzzMachines which is a kind of modular analogue synth emulator/sound tracker/does it all type thing and completely kicks ass for short loops of incredibly cheesy music. I seem to have a genius for making very stupid repetitive and dire music that is somehow quite funny and ideal for looping over quick and easy flash games. If only that had some practical applications…

Thank you for that completely unrelated post. You’ve won this week’s jackass prize!

;D j/k ;D

My fault…perhaps I should be more specific. I’m asking because I have access to a new iMac, and I like many of Apple’s other programs. So, I’m wondering, of those who do use it, how well suited it is for games music, and/or what features it has that specifically aid in the making of music for games.

E.g. is it the kind of software you could use as an amateur (i.e. without having actual musical talent), or is it really designed to take the place of studio software such as ProTools?

Alright, I should really apologize for that comment, because now that I’m not in my cynical mood, and I’ve got my head out of my ass, I actually decided to go to the BuzzMachines site - and I have to admit, it’s awesome.

Thanks for the link, Breakfast.

Yeah buzzmachine looks very interesting.Too bad all the examples on the site are crappy techno music, I’m sure you can make great music with that.
Thanks for the link.

You will need to invest some time learning both API’s but the potential is huge…

One of the reasons that I upgraded my iLife package was to get GarageBand specifically for making background loops for games.

It does seem to be pretty easy for someone like myself with absolutely no musical talent what so ever to come up with some interesting sound to add ambiance to a game.

And of course, I have never found the time to actually DO any of that.
