urge to kill is rising

Well I tried to compile JOGL, and it talked something about (crap) ant and other libraries that I didn’t have at this very moment on my computer.

Then I tried to compile Gpg and after I looked into source file folder, I seen some refference to automake. VC 7.1 tookit 2003 doesn’t have any automake2 included. Wait they talked something about automake 1… was it 2 or 9.

Then I tried to compile JOAL It liked some includes, but I was able to get it together somehow so it started, but it wanted header altypes.h. (all types? what is it?) Then I remember doc talked something about open al sdk. Again not on my computer.

Then I tried to compile gpg privacy asistant. Simillar problem as with gpg.

It seems like they are expecting to compile it from linux and tell the compiller to create windoze executable. Wasn’t C source files supposed to be a transferable?

It’s much more simple in Java, in some cases I could just type javac . and everything is compiled in no time.

Of course I have possible access to automake without increasing my phone bills more. It’s inside of my CD image file. So it seems that to install gpg and gpgpa I just need to find 4 CDs, burn linux on it, install it as a dual boot, setup a very “interesting” version of linux, copy file from windoze shared partition to linux partition, write ugly command line, copy exe file to windoze, and in no time I have gpg on my computer working.

On the other hand I didn’t have time to install linux for one month, so It might be interesting when I would have a two hours of spare time. And another two hours in searching for blackhawk Java virtual machine. (I know I have it on some CD, I just don’t remmember if it’s a 1.4 or 5.0)

So aside as writing this as a warning for developers what could happen when they would distribute theirs libraries, and programs a little question.

The title is a citation. From what is this citation?
Who said this?
I said it of course, but name at least one thing more.

Homer, “No Beer or TV make Homer Mad”.

  • “Urge to kill rising”.
