Update on jogl, gcj, Fodora Core Linux, etc

Just FYI…

One of the GNU Classpath guys recently solved the libjawt binary compatibility problem we were having. This was preventing us from running a gcj-built jogl on Sun’s JVM and vice versa. See http://fitzsim.org/blog/?p=7.

My jogl RPM was just accepted into “Fedora Extras” for Fedora Core 5, which means that Fedora users will just have to type “$ yum install jogl” and they’ll get a working jogl installation (complete with .jar files and an ahead-of-time compiled version for use with gcj/gij).

This includes support for PowerPC Linux, for which I have some patches. I forget the patch submission process for this project. If somebody can give me a pointer, I’ll submit the patches.

Thanks,

AG

That’s nice to hear. I’m glad JOGL is working on your platform.
