Hmmm… In Jeff Kesselman’s last blog, he wrote that he was going to update his blog once a week. That entry is from August 30. I had stoped reading that page many months ago :frowning: Well, lets hope that we actually will get some updates on this page and that sun will give some attention to this!

Looks like a cool game. Been distributed by shockwave.com

Isn’t that blasphemy?

Does anyone know how much of Xpand Rally that was written in Java?

They were going to post here with a weekly update about what the GTG was doing.

That didn’t happen either.

This stuff doesn’t help with their credibility.

Don’t get me wrong, they seem like swell guys when they are around (active here)… but what have they really done? Where are they taking Java gaming? How will they do it?

They worked in the dark for a year or two on the Gaming JSR - then dumped half-finshed APIs into an open source project and left the community to finish them… which worked okay (not great) for JOGL and JOAL… but IMHO failed miserably for JInput…

They ran a gaming contest… of which the prizes still haven’t been fully awarded I believe…

Then they disappeared for a LONG time, came back to say “expect great new changes… by Christmas 2004,… um… we mean by the end of January 2005…”

Let’s hope they at least have some success selling there big gaming server platform… if they are even still persuing that (how would we know?)…
