Tyrant - Java Roguelike Adventure Game

Hello everyone,

Just announcing Tyrant as a project that is open for volunteers. It is a roguelike adventure game with an extensible, flexible game engine and a rapidly growing world. It features intricate randomly generated worlds and plenty of fun replay value.

The game is currently pretty high up the SourceForge popularity charts (as of this week: 99.6% activity percentile, #2 Turn Based Strategy, #2 Role-Playing and #17 Java project ranking). We’re looking for enthusiastic people to help in any of the following areas:

  • Playtesting and bug hunting
  • Designing graphic tiles (Photoshop skills and artistic talent required!)
  • Creating new quests, monsters, spells and items (Java skills required!)

The game is open source (GPL) and hosted at SourceForge:

And the first bug spot goes to Kev…

Heh, I actually downloaded the source for this game yesterday. I have only been doing Java for a few weeks so I felt that I needed to start reading source to get further in my studies. Thanks for making it open source

Later,
