Ok, this is for people who like chess or turn based games. This is a thinking mans game. Its called metal knights. Its turn based so you dont play all at once. You come in and play your turn, then you can go play galaxies untill that turn comes up again. There is a program that pings your game and if your turn is ready it plays a .wav. So you can be playing a game and hear it and go play your turn.
The game is really fun and totally adictive. Depending on how many games you have going at once, it can take as little as a half hour every 3 days to play, or as much as you want. Every game you play is kept track of so there is rankings and the better player you beat, the more points you get. The maps you play on are pre-made, there are over 275 of them avaliable (I doubt any one person has played on them all) so nothing is left up to random like some games.
The learning curve on basic gameplay is about 20 minutes, its a very simple game. Think of chess, very few pieces with limited movement capabilities and so many options evolve quickly.
Downloading the game is free and playing by yourself (or hotseat games with other people in your house) is free. Playing online is free as well, but some of your options are limited. Registering only costs 10 bucks and its a onetime fee. I registered my game 4 years ago for 10 bucks and have had countless hours of fun for it. When you download the game, download the full version, not the standard download. It comes with more of the maps, and some extra tilesets (ways to view the battleground). Not all the maps are in the download, you have to connect to the internet and get the newest ones from there.
