too many adsense ? here is how to remove it from any browser :)

I read this trick on another forum and it works fine, really simple to do, you simply have to add a wrong ip for the adsense server in your hosts file, below an example for window:

  1. open the file : C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts with notepad it should look at below
  2. add the two blue line & save it

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 googlesyndication.com
127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com

and you can do the same for any other adverttisment server

just use adblock…

hum… the above does not requiere any soft install, only take 1 min , and works for all browser

yes, and it also only works for adsense.

ff + adblock + noscript and you’re good to go

For me, adsense helps to refinance my site. People want all websites to be free but are not willing to accept some non-immersive adds like adsense? lwjgl.org has adds as well as dzzd.net has…If you want to earn some money by placing adds on YOUR site, you should accept them on others too, IMHO.

Removed adsense from Puppygames ages ago  And now, from every other site

at home I dont use adblock - only noscript.
at work I use both adblock and noscript, but I actually allow adsense ads, because I dont mind them. but I will actively and aggressively disable flash and flashy ads!!

hum, ads on my site was really not to earn money… I just wantedt to see how it was working trying different advertiser server, I will try to not forget to remove them all as soon as I will work again on the web site. Advertisment are now everywhere in the stree, on your wear, on Internet, world is becoming crazy with advertisement… I definitly stop watching TV two years ago due too advertisment!, I dont think it should not exist, but I tink there are too much.

I did it too right now

I just don’t have flash installed.

I make a good chunk of money from AdSense. I understand people who block ads, though. I seriously hate TV ads, and usually just stick to DVDs because of it. Online ads usually don’t bother me (except for pop-overs… and audio ads… okay I could probably name a few others…

There are scripts to detect ad-blocking. I’m not sure how well they work, but I’ve seen a site that incorrectly thought I had blocked ads (bad internet connection), and it asked me to ‘subscribe’ instead. Seems reasonable to me.

Ye, blocking adsense (or generally any type of non-animated ads) is a bit silly. One shouldn’t punish sites with unobtrusive ads.

Well, from a financial standpoint programmers are pretty much the worst audience to begin with. There is little need to make it worse.

From a more realistic perspective on the issue… I have never, ever, once seen anything on Adsense that I have wanted to click on. Quite often it’s totally irrelevant. So why a site should be paid for serving a totally pointless irrelevant ad to me is beyond me. I’ll save them the pennies

It’s pretty on-topic on my site. Well, for the most part. The one for latex sex gear was a bit irritating.

that’s true that’s adsense is maybe less agressive than other advertiser, but as it have most of the market place, you see it every where and hundreds of times every days, and that’s boring.
