Its official (as though we didn’t know already) - Titan Attacks rocks.
Kev
Fantastic. It is well deserved. Way to go(again) Cas.
congrats, well deserved
Yay for us! (And don’t forget Chaz, and Shinji!, and Elias & Matzon & friends at LWJGL etc) Hopefully we won’t get slashdotted, I expect that’ll have exactly the opposite effect intended

Just purchased my copy! Way to go Cas!

Indeed. You all deserve a big round of applause for a job well done!

Considering that it isn’t a front-page story, I expect you’ll get a little Slashdotting. i.e. Enough to drum up business, but not enough to kill your servers. It also helps that they don’t directly link to your site. (Though given the fact that the story isn’t on the front page, that may be a bad thing.)
Congratulations! 8)
On another topic, whatever happened to Super Dudster?
thought I read somewhere that there was issues with them using an elvis-like character or something like that

I thought that was just Cas’s paranoia? As I remember, that’s why he changed the game’s name from Super Elvis to Super Dudster.

It was massively underperforming. Therefore it was pulled off for the time being.
Cas said that he would eventually put it back on after some tweaking cycle.
Yes, it’s kind of sitting there gathering dust but I’m too lazy to tweak it… one day I’ll get around to it.

I sorta wondered if that could be turned into some competition, but I failed to come up with rules, which are acceptable for all parties.
Hm. I think the assets could be also used for some kind of (uninspired) puzzle game after some touch up. (That is… if my memory serves me right.) And there is always the option to outsource the programming
Titan Attacks is reviewed in this month’s PC Zone indie pages as well. They seem to like it.
Really? What did it get?
It got absolutely panned by Dan Marshall, who writes for PCZone…
Cas
It scored 58 ( they score much more harshly than most magazines, I’ve noticed ) but the review is really positive:
"At its core Titan Attacks is just the same as every other Space Invaders game you’ve ever played. However Titan Attacks beefs up the concept with some excellent RPG elements, which allow you to bolster your ship’s power after every level. The more bonus points you amass, the more money you’ll have available to spend on shield, weapon and speed upgrades.
Throw in some tricky opponents that dive and twist like drugged pigeons and a whopping 100 stages and you’re left with a hugely entertaining, if still incredibly basic, blaster. If you’re looking for Space Invaders with a twist, it’s currently one of the best bets out there."
