So,

Where do I go looking for someone to help with making some simple graphics for me? I don’t need a dedicated person, I only need a few simple things and then I’m done with the current project.

  • I have a 3D boat model in Lightwave and 3ds format, I’d like to get 10 frames rendered with the paddle wheel turning. I know enough to be dangerous, but not enough to sit for 4 days trying to do what someone who knows the programs can do in an hour.

  • I would like to convert a few images to pngs.

  • I need 3 different colored ballons drawn in png format.

Ok, so is there a site or maybe even here, where people don’t program, but do graphics work?

Many game development forums have “Help Wanted” boards.

Also, are there any art schools around you? Art students are always working on expanding their portfolios, and you can suggest that your game might make a nice addition.

Where’s our Help Wanted board? I thought about the Volunteers Projects section, but wanted to post here first.

I don’t think we have any art schools here in San Antonio. My best match would be some of the actual schools, but I’d have to go track down a way to post something at the school.

Hmmm… I’ll keep looking around.

Any game dev sites you can think of where I might try?

Gamedev.net has a “Help Wanted” forum that’s gets TONS of traffic.

You could also try posting in forums that are dedicated to art (sorry, I’m not really familiar with any of those).

Hey thanks for those extra links! I’m well on my way to begging for help in the art and sound departments! :slight_smile:

I’ve been very fortunate. I found someone on GameDev who already provided some great music and sound effects. Another person is going to render a 3d boat I needed.

Won’t be long now and the polish for the program will be done!

Thanks to all who pointed me to some great links. Maybe we could make this a sticky for others? That or start a new thread with a better title and sticky that one. Mods?
