The moderators should not unlock any topic when its creator locked it

Hardly surprising as it’s a very low key volunteer effort and we suffered a nasty hard disk crash, and it took a) that long to find someone who could fix it in between trying to rescue my own site and various others on there AND work full time and b) $680 of my own money just to get the thing back again and c) even more money to move the hosting (thanks mazon).

If anyone complaining about the reliability of the website would kindly donate the required money for a hot backup system we would of course be grateful. Until then you get what you pay for.

As for the topic locking -

As I said to you in a private email, Julien (and it was there I hoped to keep this discussion), nobody unlocked your thread. Cas was able to post there because he’s a moderator. Even though he is not a moderator of that section, he is a Showcase Moderator which gives his certain random permissions across the whole forum. The permissions are very screwed up at the moment and it’s just something we’ve all got to live with until the forum gets upgraded.

I agree with you that your thread was totally derailed and most of the posts in there were completely off topic and meant to rile you up. But, just get used to it, and move on. Right now you are once again proving to the people who like to mess with you that it will get the results they’re searching for. And your first reply to this thread, once again, tells me that you are often too hot-headed for your own good. Half of your responses seem like the result of assuming that people were insulting you, when they were actually posting on your side. So just chill out a bit. I understand JOGL is important to you, but nobody is hurting it by posting irrelevantly about LWJGL instead.

And I apologize for not putting a word of warning into that thread not to allow it to derail any further - that was my fault.

Not that anyone on here gives a Monkeys on my opinion, am with goussej on this too. Some of the replies to his original post were pretty childish. It’s no wonder some of the more respected ppl don’t post here anymore.

I am slightly surprised that LWJGL, as a “very low key volunteer effort” is hosting so much on its own website though, rather than making use of the many free online resources available for such efforts.
