Hi everybody.

I tried to make an RPG in Java… So my basic project was the RPG-Library. To test it, I made an Minecraft-styled RPG based on my own Library. I hope you guys like it, controls just with WASD or Arrow-Keys and Space/Enter (Oh yeah and ESC for the Ingame-menue).

So… play it, have some fun, and tell me how do you think of it. The end is on the bridge, because I have no clue about how the story should be. Tell me please, if you have any story ideas. And tell me, if there is anything to improve. Just comment your impression. ;D

In the main Menu i can press enter to get into the Settings and to Quit but i can’t press enter on Continue Game or New Game so well … some nice music and a half working Menu :x

Based on the screenshots:
First impression -> the game is 2D, then i realize the Characters, they don’t look 2D so it’s 3D? or a mixture of both hm :smiley:
But it looks nice i think.

Can’t test it though :c

Oh yes I see I fixed the problem :smiley:

Continue did nothing because you had no save… but New game should work now.

Okay, played arround with it, still couldn’t tell if that character actually is 3D or not (looked inside the jar, it is 2D :p)

you might want to improve the movement, especially if you hit another direction while running

I would drop the “Minecraft” from the name.

Also drop it from the theme I’d say.
Taking Minecraft as a reference isn’t quite popular nowadays…

I found le bug. When I was told to give the map to “Brome”? and he told me to wait, I went back to William thinking he might tell me something. He said “What are you waiting for?”, so I decided to go back to Brome. But I couldn’t, the path way to Brome said “I should have a look at this ‘hidden treasure’”. Now I’m stuck :smiley:

So no Minecraft Theme… I could agree on this one :slight_smile:

But I still have the big problem: What should the Story be about?!? ANY Suggestions? Or maybe a website where I can get inspiration?

And I will have a look at this bug, shouldn’t be a problem to fix :smiley:

Spend a few weeks at your local role playing game center and never worry about story ideas again lol.

Take inspiration for LOTR (Lord of the Rings) or from some Dungeon and Dragons style game. I think Minecraft is a little lacking in the “epic-castle” department. ::slight_smile:

Saying that you don’t know what the story would be if it’s not Minecraft-centered… Minecraft doesn’t even have a story.

MineCraft RPG … has nothing to do with MineCraft oriented game play :yawn:

That’s probably the point.
Minecraft doesn’t have anything but gameplay, so what do you want to build on there? Seriously, bad idea…
