The Count Lucanor

Hello fellow developers,

Since a while now I’m working on an adventure game called The Count Lucanor (http://thecountlucanor.com).
I come to you today to introduce it to you because it is now on Greenlight and need your votes ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=547322298 - whether yes or no, actually, i’m forcing no one here  ).

I won’t copy/paste what is written in greenlight, there is already plenty of info there.
This game is made by 3 people :

  • the director, in charge of all gfx , story , game design , sound , movies, basically everything that is not code or scripting
  • the developer ( me ) : providing all the tools, editor and engine.
  • the mapper : creating maps and scripting.

Everything is Java, using the opengl / openal bindings provided by Jogamp.
I’m pretty proud of the map editor which allows wysiwyg map drawing and easy scripting.

Let me know how do you find the game.

Hi

I’m really happy for you, I have seen a lot of positive comments about your game, I wish you a lot of success even though I hate Steam, DRMs, proprietary stuff, … Of course, it’s a pleasure to see one more game using JogAmp, it proves that it’s a totally viable option for gaming too ;D Do you use JInput to support gamepads?

I’m not a big fan of 2D games but I find your video attractive. Why is the narration in Japanese?

Yep, i Use Jinput for gamepads.

For sound, I use SoundSystem

I’ll implement a replacement solution in NEWT but it won’t be ready very soon.

Paul Lamb Sound Library? If you need to use a compact profile, let me know, there are a few things to modify to make it work.

Now that’s a good news !

Ok, thanks for the info.

I just watched your Announcement Trailer on YouTube, your game is gorgeous.

Thnks a lot.

By the way, the game has been greenlit a few days ago

Congrats monsieur_max! 8)
