System Requirements

Hey everybody,

I’ve never really found any system requirements for Java 3D. I know it depends on how much a 3D scene has and other factors, but in general, could someone tell me? Currently, these are my specs:
RAM:
192MB

OpenGL:
No (Video card doesn’t support it)

Direct3D:
No (Video card doesn’t support it)

Processor:
Pentium II

Video Memory:
4MB

DirectX Version:
7

Processor Speed:
397~Mhz
But soon I will be ordering a 64MB Video Card /w Direct3D and OpenGL. Could anyone tell me if this would suffice? Or is it just a better idea to test it all and see how much my system can handle?

Youve got a pretty slow CPU and not a lot of memory.

Even with a fancy graphics card I’d expect this setup to chug along and/or run out of memory on very comples scenes.

Ahh that’s what I figured. I’m planning on buying a new PC later this, so I guess I can hold off on Java 3D for a while. But my 64MB Video Card I ordered should make some of a differance, that’l suit me well until I get a new PC.
