Swing lags and has horrible performance on my PC

It’s only recent.

Any Swing application like Netbeans and ArgoUML have stacked up.
It takes ages for Swing menus to refresh, open or even resize. Sometimes they don’t even refresh, instead I get a blank window.

I uninstalled Java and anything Java related, reinstalled it and it still has the same problem.

One solution (which isn’t a good one) is to go into Windows XP’s services and disable the “DCOM Server Process Launcher” from starting.
This solves the problem but creates many more.

Anyone have a real solution to this?
Thanks.

Blank windows can be caused by the graphics driver’s anti-aliasing setting. Solution:

I can’t believe this.
Thanks.

Will Ati fix this?

I doubt it. The problem exists for almost a year now.

Actually, both ATi and NV have a track record of fixing such bugs up to 2 years after they first officially recognized them  So there’s still hope…
