Anyone heard any news about Sun Game Server Technology? Release date?

Firstly, do a search on this forum. Make sure you manually set the search days from “7” to more like “500”. There are a couple of long threads in various topics here.
Secondly, click on “Java Games Home” above, and follow the press-releases/whitepapers link (unless it’s been removed recently) which has some very basic info.

My starting point was the ‘Java Games Home’ and the whitepaper / chat but it is very vague in the release dates…
I have now also searched this site (width more than 7 days limit 
) but all I seem to find is posts during/shortly after the chat in july.
Im just wondering if anyone has fresh information in the subject…

there isnt much news coming out of sun about it. should
be more soon i would hope. the other mmpo games
server is: grexengine.com but then theres not much info

As I keep saying: there ought to more about this imminently (patents now sorted out). But it’s not me doing it.
And you can always email sales @ grexengine.com and you’ll get a quick response on most things.
Answer: deep in development. We demonstrated the prototype last year at GDC and sicne then have been wokring feverishly on the real releasable version.
No release dates announced. We may have something to say at GDC. If you have a seriously funded preofessional project and are lookign for mroe information in the mean-time, conatct Doug Twilleager or Athomas Goldberg in the Game Technologies Group at Sun.
