sun.com broken - other sources for encryption?

I need the high-grade encryption for 1.4.2 (trying to get SSL to work to https://www.verisign.com) but java.sun.com is still up and down like a tart’s knickers, and after spending 5 minutes trying to load the download from:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

it just either times-out or goes to a “page not found”. I really doubt that the 1.4.2 download page has a broken link on it, so I’m assuming it’s just part of the other problems going on over there at the moment.

So…does anyone know of any alternative sources of the “unlimited strength” encryption stuff? (which is now exportable to most places, including the UK where I am now).

PS Last time I got through on the link (it’s the last one on the page quoted above, I got given this for some variety:

Your browser sent a query this server could not understand.

Yeah. Right. I presume that the admins for java.sun.com are having a really bad week at the moment…

I think “Bouncy Castle” has been tossed around as a crypto provider… Google will tell you more.

Thanks, I’d forgotten about them.

Sorted the original problem now anyway

You still can’t use Bouncy Castle with high encryption without the special Sun policy file AFAIK. (Jeez, what a joke that export law is)
