Windows download

Webstart link

Controls
Cursor keys and space to move and jump. X to pick up and drop pipes, C to plug in and unplug.

Comments and suggestions very welcome, once the voting has finished I’ll probably go back to this and tweek it (it definely needs more levels and a proper “game complete” screen).

Hi

The Webstart-link doesn’t work. :-\

Oops, bbcode typo. Fixed now, ta.

I get this:

Work fine here (Windows XP, Intel Graphics card, Java 6)

It seems interresting, I will play more later

Fun, but a bit buggy. It can be maddening to get the guy to pick up the thing because you have to very quickly tap the X button or he drops it again. Also, the balls often get stuck in between the floor, which totally screws you over.

Yeah the picking up bug is a pain that I only found out about after the compo finished, I might see if it’s within the rules to get that fixed because it should be really simple.

While I spent a lot of time getting the physics to be stable it can still screw up somewhat. Partly due to the level design (steep slopes don’t agree with it) but again I ran out of time. I’m reminded why I don’t usually do physics-based games - it’s very, very hard to get physics robust and stable enough to be used as a major gameplay element, doubly so when the player has direct interaction with them and can do all sorts of freaky things. Which is why most commercial games just limit it to eyecandy effects like explosions and rag doll.

Yeah, I know how you feel about physics. Such a gigantic difficulty. Were you allowed to use libraries in the contest?

PS I wish I had heard about this, I definitely would have entered something myself.

It works fine under Mandriva Linux 2007.

Thanks a lot nice job

Stop with the spam. Can we vote to ban this guy? He doesn’t say anything useful and is just advertising with his signature.

I agree, ban ip and delete account/posts

Agree with above sentiments as well, though I have to admit,

“Thanks 4 it dear”

rather amused me as a random spam comment :stuck_out_tongue:

So not entirely useless.

Hmmm… seems familiar… new-born bot I reckon…
