Welcome!

If you already know how to program in OpenGL the step is not so big to JOGL. The best place to start are these forums and the Nehe tutorials:

Kind regards,

Thank you very much.

Sorry but this thread is about JOGL :
http://jogamp.org/jogl/www/

So predictable, here we go: for newbies, a Java OpenGL binding == JOGL. They don’t know about JOGL / LWJGL. They are simply looking for an OpenGL binding. Let me advise whichever binding I choose to advise. I advise LWJGL for a good reason: LWJGL is closest to the C API, which is best for him, as he has Delphi experience, and the Delphi OpenGL binding is very close to C.

For complaints, press [Report to moderator] and I’m sure I’ll look into it. :-* I always wanted to say that.

What I say has nothing to do about any kind of opinion concerning the both APIs and you are making some suppositions about his thoughts. You know that it is not the first time some people including you speak about the “competitor” of JOGL in a thread whose subject is explicitly JOGL, it is written in the title, “Start JOGL and JAVA”, it is clear.

Sorry, it is not my role. Next time, I will report such problems to the moderator.

Jogl is dead! oh noes!11!!!

Cas

JOGL is not dead, Mickael and Sven would not have created another website for a dead API, you’re completely wrong:

doh, you fall for the bait every time

I’m cruel

Cas

I don’t mind. JOGL cannot die, I need it at work. If nobody took care of this library, I would have to maintain it alone.

Contrary to popular belief, that would lead to a sudden increase in patches and fixes.

Mickael and Sven currently keep up the good work. I have no popular belief. Why would it cause a sudden increase in patches and fixes?

Because the project activity is so low, that any activity would mean a sudden increase.
