Thanks, but itā€™s far from done yetā€¦8-12 months I figure.

Ahhā€¦sorry to hear that. Intel cards are notorious for sucking with Open GL typically using software rendering. You could try getting the latest drivers (if you donā€™t already have them), but it may not help. I donā€™t think there is much Iā€™ll be able to do in the program to make it better for those cards. :frowning:

It worked really well on my machine

9800 pro

It looks very nice, I am very impressed.

The only thing is itā€™s way too hard for me to control. I managed to take some of the enemy ships out with missiles, but they where gone too fast that I missed the nice explosions.

Same with all the graphics really Iā€™m spending all my time focussing on the arrow that Iā€™m missing the eye candy. Kinda defeats the point of a good lookinā€™ game to me.

Dan.

The next version will have much better controls. I have slowed the enemy ships down by 25%, made your controls much less senstitive, and have added a cursor so you can see how far off of the center of the HUD you are, this makes it MUCH easier to re-stabalize your ship.

All of the ships are now textured as well, so the ships look much better, I am very happy with the player ship (the one you fly) and the one that looks like a jet fighter, but the alien ship needs a bit more work. I have also added some LOD support for yet another performance boost.

The next version will be much easier to play and looking even nicer. It will still be far from complete though

Thanks for testing!

Very nice on (running at about 60-70 FPS):

XP:SP2, P4 2.50GHz, 512MB Ram, nVidia GF3ti200 (64MB), Java 5.0, at 1024x768 fullscreen

Butā€¦

When I get hit (the ship catches fire or something, somne kind of particles?) it drops straight down to 3FPS, making me an easy killā€¦

Nice work, though!

Thanks for the feedback. Thatā€™s the first feedback I have heard from a Geforce 3ti user. Glad it runs nicely for you.

The explosion thing that slowed you down is a bug. That effect will be removed and your ship will shake to indicate you have been hit, the consoles might flash something as wellā€¦ or something along those lines I havenā€™t fully decided yet.

Anyway, whatever I do for it will clear up the problem, it just hasnā€™t made it very high on my list yet. When it bugs me enough it will be fixed. Of course hearing it is bothering someone else makes it bug me more
