Spiderball-Replay Speed Runs

Wow, what a great game! I had a lot of fun playing this! Thanks to Morre and Laundon for making it.

I didn’t know where else to post these, but I think this game deserves a speed-run community.

Instructions:

  • You need the replay version of Spiderball4k: http://www.x2d.org/java/4k/spiderballreplay.jnlp
  • To watch a replay, just paste the code after pressing “A” in the respective map.
  • To create a replay, press “A” after finishing a map and save the code.
  • To skip through levels, use ‘Q’ and ‘W’
  • To go to a custom level (i.e. Map 10), press ‘L’ and paste its respective map code

NOTE: The replay codes weren’t edited, but it would be a fun math project to optimize them

Lemme see your best runs!

awesome skills there ;D

Is there a way of selecting a level, or do you have to just play through them in order?

Yeah, you can press ‘Q’ to go back a level, and ‘W’ to go the next.

Oh man, nice routes! I’m gonna update the records on the first post as they come. 8)

edit: I just posted a faster run for Map 8

Two small improvements.

Sweet run!

Just posted the new times, and added a new runs for Maps 7 and 8, and the Obstacle Course Map 10. You have to press “L” to load map 10, the code is given above.

Whee!

That was a scary run on Map 4!

I just made tiny improvements on Maps 5 and 8, and substantial improvements on 4, 6 and 7 using new techniques.

Wow. Now it’s just getting crazy. :o

I’ve found some new routes on 2, 4 and 8 and made some incremental improvements on others.

Map 2: 7.7 = 10 3e7 306 1 11 3e7 308 2 54 4c4 26d 1 98 437 25e 2 c4 456 20c 1 c8 45d 203 2 113 38e 19d 1 117 387 190 2 130 354 13f 1 178 295 249 1 179 292 254 2 19e 347 2c6 1 1a0 340 2c9 2

And I reckon you can improve map 6 with this move between the sphere and the ceiling. Unfortunately I then screwed up by clicking outside of the window. ::slight_smile:

Map 6: (incomplete) 13 50c 229 1 17 50c 231 2 4b 493 213 1 4f 48c 214 2 8c 3d0 285 1 91 3c1 280 2 c7 4f7 2e0 1 cb 4ed 2e6 2 128 5a8 352 1 129 5ae 352 2 149 559 406 1 150 579 40f 2 16f 510 3cd 2

Indeed, haha! I didn’t think it was possible to squeeze through that space in Map 6. Can you do that consistently? I haven’t even been able to do it once.

Also, I got a lucky streak on Map 9’s run and cut a second off of it.
