Space Mission: Asteroids!! is a space shooter like game.
The objective of the game is to navigate trough an asteroid field and survive for as long as you can!
Achieve you highest score, buy new ships and unlock powerups to reach furter in game.

Functional and snappy… Found it difficult to judge when the asteroids would break apart, but good to see a working menu system.

The asteroid problem is solved, the damage is now visible :wink:

Nice style! I like the way the asteroids explode. Has a nice looking design like the good old arcade classics. The movement of the spaceship might be a bit stiff though.

What changes would you sugest to improve the ship movement?

desotry the asteroid create more little asteroid some time :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a similar project with a spaceship like thing. I made my spaceship move a little further while slowing down after the key was released. It floats a bit…
The way your spaceships moves is somewhat unnatural. Though the control might be better. I think it is a choice a game designer has to make. For me floating would be better.

I had another idea just now…
The spaceship is also in the title screen. It would be supercool if the text would disappear, leaving the background and the ship behind when the players presses a key or something and the game would start instantly. :smiley: I mean if there was no cut between the two screens but rather a flow. Smooooth. :slight_smile:

Well… it wouldn’t work that well with choosing another ship of course… ah, maybe it’s just too complicated. g

You made it start with a slower pace, didn’t you?
I still think it’s nice, but for higher motivation it lacks a little funny feature… getting enough credits for one of the new ships can take a long time. And I think there is something missing to sort of fill the gap between the point where it starts to get boring and achieving enough credits for a new ship.

Still, the graphics are nice, the music is cool and it fits and I enjoy playing it. Keep up the good work.

I have something in mind to give that feeling of achievement trough each level, but for now I’m trying to convert the game to libgdx because I used java2d because it was faster to program for me, but I now feel I have some lack of performance no matter what I do to optimize the code.
