I am Going over to New York in a few weeks time and wondered if any of our American friends on here might be able to give me an idea of the best price I can get a PSP either in a store in NY or from Duty Free

Used you should be able to get it for $180 -$200 US.
New I think its still pretty much around $250…
Hmm, if you live in europe it is cheaper to buy it here. You can get a new one for round about 200€ that were still ~250 US $. And used starting at 170€

Yeah I recently saw prices a bit lower here too.
My suggestion is to google “PSP and Price”. Or just check Amazon and EBGames. That shoudl give you the low end of the “respectable” market.

I got mine for ~200$ (new) in Hong Kong few months ago. If I had purchased one with a more recent firmware I would have got it for 170$. But It turned out for me that the old 1.5 firmware isn’t worth the extra money because you can play homebrew with more recent firmwares as well.
