Slick's first point release.

Slick is starting to get stable now. Kev has made the first point release. Details at http://slick.javaunlimited.net/viewtopic.php?p=2161#2161

Get Slick at http://slick.cokeandcode.com/

Very cool ;D

Version 0.1 seems rather low? How about calling it 1.0?
It seems it’s in good shape? 0.1 somewhat implies it’s unstable/unusable ???

betas can be think of as unstable, this just means it doesn’t has all planned features yet

great release for first stable version, very nice feature list.

Very very nice release indeed!

Thank you very much Kevin! I’ll consider donations if you wish.

chuckle

Just get your new game out! I wanna play!

Well, it’s progressing, slowly but surely!

It’s not elaborated enough in my opinion to show it to public.

As I said earlier, do you consider accepting donations if you think it could help development of Slick?

Donations of code? Sure  I’m afraid I’m still vitoing everything at the moment though, just trying to keep the feel consistent.

Kev

Did you ever compare how rendering with OpenGL compares to rendering on a common AWT or Swing panel?

You could for example create a SwingGameContainer/AWTGameContainer (using java.awt.Graphics for drawing). I don’t think it’s too difficult to create a testing method? I am just wondering if it would make sense to switch to Slick/LWJGL as compared to the JPanel with image backbuffer?
