Slick2d.org webpage suspended

Does anyone know why the slick2d.org website has been suspended recently and where can I download the jars for the library meanwhile?

No idea why; maybe the host has stopped paying the bills. You can still download the library from Bitbucket (grab from the development branch):
https://bitbucket.org/kevglass/slick/

Ultimately the library is dead. Now is a good opportunity to introduce a more recent and much more powerful library, LibGDX. Good luck.

FYI: slick2d.org is not managed by KevGlass anymore

Pretty much this. I had picked up Slick2D about 2 days before it went offline, looking back I’m pretty glad I did.

Who is managing slick2d now? Will there come new releases?

Well, at some points you simply has to accept that libraries have a life cycle. It’s time to move on.

The community is attempting to maintain it. Small fixes here and there. The last “update” was in late March. As far as the website goes, it has been managed by some guy for some time now. The site periodically goes down.

anyway, I go on using it for the current project and go further then. maybe libgdx … 8)

There is a mirror/replacement Slick2D website here.

Thanks for the link

But I am confused. there is written “03 June 2013 - Slick build 233 includes LWJGL 2.9.0.”

But I am using Build #264

What’s newer?

edit:
I downloaded the package ninjacave is offering… and the console says it is build #237

I find it very interesting how much people really enjoy using slick. It has had numerous websites and countless users on this forum. Why not make the switch to the more modern libgdx? I began with slick but when I came to this forum I saw more people recommended libgdx and switched. Humans really don’t like change.

Try my library. It has a long way to go but it work fine at the moment.
It’s a wrapper for LibGDX with API similar to Slick2D.
It’s called KudoGDX. It offers graphics class like slick and has been updated to offer a more optimal performance than it did recently.
There is a post for it just below this thread.
Check it out and tell me what you think

People still use slick because it is good! :emo:
